Lina Benabdallah is the McCulloch Family Faculty Fellow and Associate Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Wake Forest. She is the author of the 2020 book, “Shaping the Future of Power: Knowledge Production and Network-Building in China-Africa Relations,” which presents a framework for understanding China’s growing power, especially in Africa, that focuses on how China builds relationships and shares knowledge and skills. Her work has appeared in International Studies Quarterly, African Affairs, and other major journals. She was a visiting fellow at Harvard University’s Center for African Studies and is currently serving as a co-editor of PS: Political Science and Politics. She is frequently quoted in international media outlets and has appeared in Foreign Policy and the Washington Post’s Monkey Cage.
